Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.

Layer 4 (Pty) Ltd t/a Hyper Layer | hyperlayer.net | Last Updated: 10 March 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Hyper Layer uses cookies and similar technologies on hyperlayer.net and our client portal at billing.hyperlayer.net. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website to store information, such as your login state or preferences, between visits or page loads.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled:

  • Client area session cookies — keep you logged into your account at billing.hyperlayer.net so you don't need to re-authenticate on every page.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies — record which affiliate referred a new customer, so commissions can be credited correctly. These expire after three (3) months.

Analytics Cookies

We use a small number of analytics tools to understand how the Service is used and to improve it:

  • PostHog, our product analytics platform, served through a first-party proxy at t.hyperlayer.net. It may set cookies to distinguish sessions and, where enabled, record anonymised session activity for debugging and product improvement.
  • Google Analytics, delivered through Cloudflare Zaraz (our tag management layer), to understand site traffic and usage patterns.
  • Cloudflare, our infrastructure and security provider, which may use cookies or similar technology for bot protection and performance monitoring across our network.

None of these tools are used to serve you third-party advertising, and we do not use any ad-network or retargeting cookies.

What We Don't Use

We do not offer login via Google, Facebook, or other social media accounts, and we do not use social media tracking pixels or advertising cookies (such as Google AdSense or DoubleClick) anywhere on the Service.

Local Storage

Some preferences — such as your selected display currency — are stored using your browser's local storage rather than a cookie. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us automatically with every request the way a cookie is.

Managing Cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged into the client area, and blocking analytics cookies has no effect on core site functionality. Because we don't rely on advertising cookies, disabling non-essential cookies will not change the ads you see elsewhere on the web.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a third-party tool. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy, please submit a billing ticket through our client portal at https://billing.hyperlayer.net/submitticket.php.
